Jackfruit Street Tacos

Smoky, tender jackfruit seasoned with a zesty taco spice blend takes center stage in these irresistible street tacos. Tucked into warm tortillas and topped with a creamy cashew chipotle crema—with just the right kick of lime and spice—they’re a flavor-packed plant-based twist on a Southwest classic. Perfect for taco night, backyard hangs, or anytime you want something satisfying, simple, and full of soul.


Ingredients


For Jackfruit

1 14oz can of organic jackfruit

1 Tbsp Taso Seasoning

 

For Cashew Chipotle Crema

1/2 cup cashews

1/3 cup waster

1/2 tsp chipotle powder or adobo chilli pepper

1/2 tsp paprika

juice of 1 lime

 

For Batch of Southwest Seasoning

1/2 cup chilli powder

1 Tbsp paprika

3 Tbsp cumin

1 Tbsp salt

1 Tbsp pepper

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

2 tsp oregeno

 

Preparation


Take canned jackfruit and shred with your fingers or a fork and then rinse in water. Remove as much liquuid as you can and add to a nonstick pan with a little olive oil. Saute for 10-15 minutes. It will begin to dry out and crisp a little on the edges. Add about 1 Tbsp of the southwest seasoning and mix well.

 

For Cashew Chipotle Crema

Boil 1/2 cup cashews with 2 cups of water for 15 min

Drain and add cashews to blender or bullet with rest of ingredients. Blend until smooth.

 

To your tortilla add some of the seasoned jackfruit, red onion, cilantro, drizzle of cashew chipotle crema and a squeeze of lime.
