our story.

Hey friend, I’m so glad you’re here.

Let’s take a moment to pause and soak this in. Making the decision to show up for yourself is a really big deal, its worth celebrating, and I hope you know that.

The idea for Mahalo began seven years ago, when Joel and I came to the realization that our old ways of eating, acting, thinking, and feeling—were no longer serving us. So, we made a promise. Not just to ourselves, but to each other and to the future we wanted—a promise to change. What began as a shift to a plant-based way of eating transformed into something far bigger: an intentional approach to how we live, love, and grow every single day.

Together, Joel and I have an incredible tribe of seven kids and four grandkids who fill our lives with joy, chaos, and purpose. Truthfully, they’re the “why” behind everything we do—every choice we make to prioritize health, happiness, and longevity comes back to creating a life we can fully experience with them. For us, this shift wasn’t just about quinoa salads and smoothies (though we love those too). It was about building a lifestyle that lets us show up for the moments and people that matter most.

It’s been a life-changing ride so far—sometimes messy, always beautiful—and it’s taught us something we try to live by: change isn’t just about the things you do, it’s also about the people you surround yourself with. The ones who cheer you on as you grow and evolve. That’s why Mahalo exists—it’s more than a community; it’s a way of seeing the world. A belief that real, meaningful change is possible no matter where you’re starting from. And when we choose to do it together, it becomes something joyful—less about pressure, more about progress.

Why Mahalo? In Hawaiian, "Mahalo" is a word for gratitude, for giving thanks, and that’s something we felt deeply connected to. For us it was so much more than just a beautiful word. It was about values, about the we want to show up for life.

Life, even with its chaos and curveballs, is full of these little abundant blessings, moments that make your soul sigh in relief or light up with joy. We wanted a name that not only felt like a hug from a dear friend but also reminded us of the power of pausing, breathing in gratitude, and acknowledging the good. Maybe it’s that first sip of coffee in the morning, the hug from a friend you haven’t seen in ages, or just the quiet sound of the rain tapping against the window. We wanted to create something that reminded people—reminded us, honestly—to slow down and embrace those moments. Because when we take a step back and truly recognize the goodness around us, it changes everything. Mahalo is more than a name; it's a nudge to take a breath and be thankful for life's hidden gifts, even in the middle of our busiest days.

So, wherever you’re at—whether you’re making a tiny tweak or diving headfirst into creating a healthier, more intentional life—you’re welcome here, no questions asked. Showing up for yourself like this? It’s brave. It’s beautiful. And it doesn’t just inspire your own growth—it ripples outward, encouraging others to do the same. At Mahalo, we believe wellness is contagious. When we lift each other up, there’s no limit to what we can achieve together.

Here, we’ll lean into the small things that make a difference—the simple, nourishing meals that fuel us. The mindful habits that brighten our mornings. And the inspiring stories that remind you (and me) we’re never alone in this. We’ll show that the path to health and happiness doesn’t have to feel overwhelming; it can feel empowering, even fun.

So, welcome. Welcome to Mahalo, a place where health, happiness, and true connection come to life. I’m so glad you’re here—ready to explore, learn, and celebrate every step forward. Together, let’s embrace curiosity, kindness, and gratitude—and create lives that feel energized, joyful, and full of meaning. Because magic happens when we show up with intention, one day at a time.

Thank you for being here. You’ve already taken the first step, and that matters more than you know.

our vision

Imagine this for a moment: a world where health isn’t measured by numbers or milestones but by how fully and authentically we live. A world where anyone who has the desire to to live a more fullfilling life feels empowered, supported, and fully capable of achieving it.  A world where living “a happier, healthier, and longer life” doesn’t feel overwhelming or out of reach—it feels doable, supported, and even joyful. This is the future we’re building

We see a future where taking care of yourself isn’t a

lonely road but a shared adventure. In this world, people come together—from all walks of life—to lift each other up, share their wisdom, and inspire one another to keep going. Here, well-being is woven into the fabric of everyday life, and the real reward isn’t just adding years to your life; it’s adding life to your years.

This vision isn’t just about living longer—it’s about living better, together, in a world built on connection, kindness, and the warm glow of knowing you’re never alone in your journey.

If you’ve been looking for a place to belong on your health journey, you’ve just found it.
